چکیده

Abstract The worldwide shortage of medical-grade ventilators is a well-known issue, that has become one the central topics during COVID-19 pandemic. Given these machines are expensive and have long lead times, approach to vacate them for patients in critical conditions while with mild moderate symptoms treated stripped-down ventilators. We propose mass-producible solution can create such minimum effort. part module be attached CPAP repurpose as low-pressure Here, we describe concept first measurements which underline potential our solution. Our may serve starting point open-access ventilator technologies.

Seven Ventilators Challenged With Leaks During Neonatal Nasal CPAP: An Experimental Pilot Study.

BACKGROUND Nasal CPAP is the most common respiratory support for neonates. Several factors are considered important for effective treatment, including leaks at the patient interface and the delivery of pressure-stable CPAP. Investigations of pressure stability during leaks should include both the change in the mean delivered CPAP and the pressure variation during each breath. The aim of this st...

Repurposing itraconazole as an anticancer agent.

Itraconazole, a common anti-fungal agent, has demonstrated potential anticancer activity, including reversing chemoresistance mediated by P-glycoprotein, modulating the signal transduction pathways of Hedgehog, mechanistic target of rapamycin and Wnt/β-catenin in cancer cells, inhibiting angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis, and possibly interfering with cancer-stromal cell interactions. Clinical...

Repurposing of Anthelminthics as Anticancer Drugs

Repurposing refers to the reuse of conventional drugs with distinct indications for new applications in order to speed up drug development by capitalizing on previous knowledge and safety data. A prominent example is the proposal to implement anthelminthics, such as mebendazole, niclosamide and pyrvinium pamoate, as novel anticancer drugs. Numerous studies have demonstrated activity of these ag...
